Crib bumpers are an issue for debate. They are secured to the sides of the crib and are not likely to interfere with the baby’s breathing; however, many pediatricians argue that they impede air circulation around the crib. Because of these problems, there have been new types of bumpers being designed. People are confused by the safety of crib bumpers since they are still included in baby bedding. Due to inconsistent information and biased opinions regarding crib bumpers, parents should simply use their best judgment and decide whether they want to use one or not.
