The US dollar is very closely hinged to the canadian currency. Anyone who has any interest money is familiar with it because it is pretty important in the grand scheme of things. The world economy is in shambles and the monitory systems are messed up, but Canada’s has done ok. An economist could probably tell you why that is exactly. The loonie is backed by things other than gold (unlike the USA) mainly natural resources. I often get paid in US dollars so how much the canadian one is worth really affects me.
